DO YOU HAVE YOUR HEARTS DESIRE?

Written by admin

Hi Friends,

This economy sure has a lot of people down in the dumps.  I have to admit - I get down, too.  I see my family struggle, my friends struggle, I see us doing things differently that we did last year, and it goes on.

Regardless of where any of us are financially - this economy hurts us all.  What I found to be a real blessing is God’s Word…Read this Psalm and really read it deep down in your soul…

Psalm 37 (New International Version)

 1 [a] Do not fret because of evil men
       or be envious of those who do wrong;

 2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
       like green plants they will soon die away.

 3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
       dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

 4 Delight yourself in the LORD
       and he will give you the desires of your heart.

 5 Commit your way to the LORD;
       trust in him and he will do this:

 6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
       the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

 7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
       do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
       when they carry out their wicked schemes.

 8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
       do not fret—it leads only to evil.

The 37th Psalm is much longer - open your Bible and read the whole thing…The key here is that God will give you the desires of your heart.  He says to “be still and wait.”  Here is where people get confused.

People say things like - I asked God to let me win the lottery and He didn’t do it, or I asked God to get even for that person who hurt me, or I asked God for that job I just applied for and so on. Friends, God will give you the desires of your heart as long as they are in line with Gods word.  If you truly desire something - look it up in the Bible, pray about it, and if it is in line with Gods Word - He will do it.

He says to be still - just wait, listen, hear what God is saying to you.  God does everything in His timing - not yours.  Boy, do I know that:-).  Sometimes it seems like I wait forever for something to happen and then when it does, I can see Gods hand in it and I know the timing is perfect right when it happened…

Don’t let the bad news get you down.  Turn to the GOOD NEWS of JESUS and trust Him and he will give you peace - even in the worst of times.
